I’m a firm believer that confidence comes directly from repetition. When you have put in the time over and over and over again, you enter into competition with a different type of attitude. It’s not cocky, or arrogant. It’s not fake or embellished. I can tell when an athlete has put in a lot of repetitions. There is a certain bounce to their step on the court, a certain stare at the pitcher when they are up to bat, a certain stance on the football field. In this photo of the week, you can just tell this girl is about to crush the ball. Her posture says, “I’ve put in the work, and I’m ready.”
One of my many goals is to help players understand that the points are scored before the games even start. You can’t accomplish in a game what you have not perfected in training.
With the summer nearing, all athletes have another opportunity to create the moment in this photo. To stand ready to compete, and KNOW that you are ready, because you put in the reps. DO NOT LET THE OPPORTUNITY PASS YOU BY!!
