I consider myself a decent photographer. I point, stay still, capture and do a decent job at editing a finished product. However, to me, that all has very little to do with photography. Sure, you have to understand what you’re doing to get the best quality possible, but there is SO much more. Photography captures moments. GREAT photography captures GREAT moments. I’d like to say that it’s all skill but it’s actually a lot of God’s timing.

Sometimes, you wonder to the other side of the field in search of something interesting you can shoot. The game is kind of dead so far so you’re just looking. Then the moment happens. And you just start firing away(digital cameras for the win!) not wanting to miss a single second. You know you have something but not exactly sure into you look into the LCD screen and THERE IT IS! The GREAT moment.

For me, those moments ALWAYS come at a time when they’re most needed by myself, and the subject(s) of the photo. If you know anything about this team being photographed… this is a powerful moment. One that everyone needs to see. DON’T WASTE THE MOMENTS! We are blessed to be able to cheer on and compete with our friends… and family… and we shouldn’t take those moments for granted with selfish thoughts and lack-luster efforts. Time goes fast. Play hard, every single play.
